Revisiting our Hills
Before Benjamin’s birth, purposely staying close to home, the kids and I bothered to hike our local hills– visiting a number of Reserves on the outskirts of town, including Dry Creek and Mission Peak. The East Bay hills are part of the Diablo mountain range which stretches from Mt Diablo (at the delta confluence of the Sacramento & San Joaquin Rivers) to the end of the Salinas Valley (past Monterey, near San Lois Obispo– the southern end of northern California). We caught the waning of spring before the hills wholly dried out.
